Back in Action
We are finally coming out of our winter hibernation, and Summer Farm Share is back in action! The Winter Farm Share was fantastic, but nothing beats all the colors and variety that the summer growing season brings. If you are a new Shareholder, welcome. We are psyched to have you with us this season. If you are a returning Shareholder, welcome back! Winter Season was a crazy journey full of new and exciting things. Thank you for sticking with us. Here is just a small picture of what we accomplished together this winter:
Our Farm Share program grew by 231% compared to the previous winter season.
We opened 7 new sites, making a total of 21 sites across Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Queens.
Over the course of the winter season, Shareholders tried an average of 80 different varieties of vegetables and fruit
1,065 people participated in the Farm Share program.
More than 57,000 lbs of fresh produce were distributed.
2,500 lbs of produce were donated to local pantries and soup kitchens.
We also launched a totally new website! Check it out and let us know what you think.
The Corbin Hill staff is dreaming of even BIGGER numbers this season! And with your support, we can make it happen. Stay tuned here, each week, for updates on Corbin Hill news, events, updates, recipes, and more!
Don’t forget to show off your veggies on social media! Like and tag us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. We love to see how creative our Shareholders are. The Corbin Hill Team is thrilled for this new season. Thank you for helping us bring fresh food to those who need it most. See you at Farm Share!
What's in Season?
Summer squash is marching onto the scene in full force. Sometime in the next few weeks, expect both green and yellow zucchini to show up in your Share. Each week, we will be giving you a glimpse of what you might see in your Share throughout the summer season. We will be constantly updating our website with recipes to make sure no matter what item you receive, we have a recipe to help you cook it. Vist our recipe blog and type in the item you need a recipe for and several recipe options will pop up. Happy cooking!
