Shares Designed with your Organization in Mind

Communities are connected through food. Community Connect is just one more innovative way that Corbin Hill brings locally grown produce to communities in New York City. Through our Community Connect program, our communities own the decision making behind their food experience and are empowered in their own right.

Our Community Connect program offers Farm Shares to self-managed communities; for example a large group of employees within a businesses or private company, a neighborhood within a building development etc. To participate, shareholders pre-order shares one week in advance through their community’s organizer who works as a liaison with our Farmshare department. Members can then pick up their Community Connect shares containing seasonal fruits and vegetables, as well as information on how to store and prepare the produce they’ve received.

+ How does it work?

A passionate member of any community will decides to host and/or organize a community for the purpose of food distribution. The community will decide what size share they’d like to receive (share sizes vary from $14 to $28) and what frequency they want those shares delivered. We deliver shares weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly. We work with you to help you find a pace that works best for your members. It is up to the community organizer to sign community members up for Farm Shares and collect all payments one week in advance. Final orders (including number of shares) need to be placed by 11.59 PM on Wednesday nights. Shares can be pre-packed to ease the workload of the community organizers.

+ Deliveries

Deliveries are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. We have a 4 hour delivery window to leave us some wiggle room to navigate the traffic that plagues our busy, beautiful city.

+ Payments

There is a minimum order requirement of $250. The payments can be handled by the Community organizer or through Corbin Hill Food Project payment processing platform, dependant on community needs. Payments made directly from the community to Corbin Hill Food Project can be made in check or cash.

+ What is in a share

Locally grown, seasonal fruits and vegetables, communities can decide how many varieties of vegetables or fruit they would like to receive weekly. Typically shares always include a fruit item, a green, and plenty of seasonal items. Corbin Hill Food Project is particularly committed to bringing culturally appropriate foods, so if you’re interested in customizing the contents, we will work with you to make sure your community is getting exactly what they want.

+ How to get started

Email to get the ball rolling. To help us plan your program better, we will need to know the size of shares you want (how many different items), and the frequency you would like to have them delivered (i.e. weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc.), and how many members you expect to take part in your program.
