who we are

Our Mission

Our mission is to disrupt and innovate within the extractive and oppressive food system and deal in the realities that face our communities as it relates to food access, food justice and food sovereignty.

Our Vision

To build a new food system that is inclusive, equitable, and sustainable where our communities thrive.

At Corbin Hill Food Project, we Believe:

  • Fresh, healthy, cultural food is a right.

  • Food is a celebration of culture and community.

  • Being connected with the people who grow our food can be healing for our communities, bodies and land.

  • In supporting local food economies and providing market opportunities for BIPOC growers and producers who have been habitually excluded from accessing markets.

  • We can define food as medicine for ourselves rooted in community culture, values and beliefs.

  • Gathering around food fosters the exchange of knowledge, wisdom, and ideas, which is medicinal for our communities.

  • Principled policies can lead to reformative and transformative change in our food system.
